Williams Slugfest Pinball Machine 1992

Description

SlugFest is a very unique pinball machine whose software was designed by the genius programmer Bill Pfutzenreuter who reportedly programmed this game almost entirely on a blank switch and lamp matrix. He left for vacation during design, with the game done except for the sound effects. He left instructions for what sounds should be placed on what hex codes, and the sound guy just filled them in and the game automatically used them right away and worked.

SlugFest, an update to the 1952 Williams Slugfest, has visual appeal, it bats the ball on it's own to get attention, it has audio appeal, it slightly more compact than a regular pinball machine and unusually reliable - Way to go Bill Pfutzenreuter.
